The southeast is great for hiding the fact that it’s October. However, as we prep for bedtime in Michigan, I am reminded by the 40 something degree temp and the drizzly rain that winter is indeed coming. Thank God for our heater.
Another sign that winter comes to Michigan a bit earlier than some other parts of the country is the foliage. Here are some shots of a few of the pretty leaves left:

There are some naked looking trees in this state for sure.
We also witnessed an all too common scene in the life of anyone who spends time on the American highways:
Yes, that would be traffic. We spent a good 45 minutes scooting along well below the speed limit. All in a days work for the people who bring Americans their stuff.
